iTunes Alterantives

Alternative Apps to iTunes on macOS

Mahtab

We all know that iTunes is the management software for iOS products such as the iPhone and the iPad. It not only plays music, but it also manages other media content such as; TV-shows, apps, movies, home movies, backs up iPhone and many more. As well as being a management software, it also acts as a media store for Apple users, you can buy media content such as signed and licensed music as well as TV shows, podcasts and books. Some people might find it difficult to use on their Macs, and therefore we have listed some great alternative applications you can use I for one, use third party apps to manage my iPhone, and we recommend you to do so as well.

Spotify

I think almost everyone know what Spotify is, but it’s good to re-explain the whole point of it. For those who enjoy listening to music on their Macs or like creating many playlists, then Spotify is your friend, you can create a free account and download the software on your Mac, you can then search and stream any music within their database on their app. There is one small downside to Spotify, and that is that it has a lot of ads in between changing tracks, so if you want to avoid these ads, you will have a get a paid subscription. With Netflix, you’ll pay around £6-£9 a month depending on your subscription plan, but with Spotify, there is only one subscription plan and that costs just under £10 a month. For those who are students, you can get a massive discount and pay only £4.99 a month.

Tomahawk

This multi-platform play for multiple types of media content is available for macOS and Linux based systems. It has loads of different features; however, it is not as complicated and frustrating as iTunes. The biggest advantage of this application is that it has an all-in-one feature for different music subscription services such as; Amazon music, Spotify, Google Play Music, Deezer and YouTube. The best aspect of this app is that it is free and requires no subscription.

i-FunBox

This is a management application for iOS devices. It is not a media player. What it does is that it imports content to your iOS device as well as exporting content. This management tool also enables you to download IPA apps for your iPhone from certified Apple developers. With this program, you will also be able to store different files in your iOS devices, meaning that you will be able to use your iOS devices as a USB flash drive. It’s free to download and use and is compatible to both macOS and Windows computer systems.

So, there you have it, three different alternative application to iTunes. Using iTunes is very frustrating, and due to the security implications within it, users are not able to be free in importing or exporting files within their devices.
